The WhiteWall Art Market
Every creative professional is invited to present work at Whitewall. In a central Art Market WhiteWall will present and market a selection of the best work at the end of July 2007. This selection is made by a perpetually changing jury composed of the most high-profile WhiteWall users. Prints of the work are available for immediate purchase online at affordable prices; the author and/or copyright holder earns a share of the profits. Our house photo laboratory in Cologne produces all prints in gallery quality. Available print sizes reach wall-filling dimensions. Upon request all images can be mounted or framed. Purchases are shipped directly to customers. At WhiteWall, users can also order online prints for their own needs. As a technical innovation the proofing process is accomplished on the computer screen; fine-tuning is accomplished without additional cost or waiting time. Alternately, proofs can also be sent for review in advance.

Based on the template “WhiteWall.com/yourName” a personalized address can be created to serve as an independent presentation of your own work in a personalized context. Here publishers, picture archives, stock photo agencies, or other institutional copyright holders have access to a new presentation form and an innovative channel to an enthusiastic public. Artists, agents, and archives interested in the Artist Pages can place their images on WhiteWall as early as June 25, 2007.
The WhiteWall Gallery Page
Companies and individuals who wish to present individual portfolios have access to a ready-to-use online gallery. WhiteWall gallerists at “WhiteWall.com/GalleryName” present their own image material and material already found on WhiteWall. They market their program primarily through their own activities outside of the Art Market. The gallery function is also ideal for presenting the work of like-minded – from a photography class through a club – as a group.
The WhiteWall Jury
The WhiteWall jury is responsible for maintaining the quality of the WhiteWall central Art Market, continuously reviewing and selecting the best and most interesting content from all of the submitted material. The jury consists of active and particularly high-profile WhiteWall users, that is from the middle of the WhiteWall forum. This dynamic principle of the WhiteWall jury is unique in the internet and represents “grass roots democracy” in the very best sense. The result is an especially diverse program, continuously expanding and evolving, independent of the partiality of a handful of curators.
The Initiators of WhiteWall
The initiators of WhiteWall are Stefanie Harig und Marc Ullrich from Berlin. In 2003, as founders of the LUMAS Editions, which has eight representative spaces to date throughout Germany, they committed themselves to opening the photo and art market to a wide public. In contrast to WhiteWall, the LUMAS concept engages a curatorial board that assembles a much more restricted portfolio of work.
