WhiteWall, Partner of the 8th Triennale of Photography in Hamburg

As a partner, WhiteWall is supporting three exhibitions of the Triennal at the Deichtorhallen Hamburg.

The 8th Triennial of Photography Hamburg presents 77 international artists in 12 exhibitions focusing on the leitmotif "Currency". Between May 20 and September 18, 2022, the multi-venue exhibition can be experienced across ten Hamburg museums and art institutions. The exhibitions will be accompanied by numerous events and a multi-day festival, which will take place from June 2 to 6, 2022. WhiteWall has been an official partner of the Deichtorhallen Hamburg since 2020. In 2022, the partnership was extended to include the 8th Triennal of Photography Hamburg, with WhiteWall producing three of the 12 exhibitions. At the Halle für aktuelle Kunst, "Currency. Photography Beyond Capture" explores conceptual approaches to photography in the "retinal age." Works by 29 international artists are linked together, offering a series of entry points for reconceptualizing the relationship between knowledge and the medium of photography.

The large-scale exhibition of Charlotte March's (1929-2005) work focuses on the hitherto little-known pieces of the Hamburg-based photographer, who is renowned for her fashion and advertising photography. The estate consisting of nearly 7000 works has been part of the Sammlung Falckenberg since 2006. The exhibition is curated by Goesta Diercks and Dirk Luckow in cooperation with Manju Sawhney.

In the two-part exhibition "Behind the Scenes" at the temporary Haus der Photographie PHOXXI, Christoph Irrgang documents the F.C. Grundlach Collection in transition, while Photonews editors Anna Gripp and Denis Brudna explore the international photography fair Paris Photo as a "stock exchange" in the world of photography.
