WhiteWall at the Environmental Photography Festival
‘Horizonte Zingst’
The result is gallery-quality art that lasts a year outdoors
“Horizonte Zingst” Photo Festival x WhiteWall
The Horizonte Zingst Environmental Photography Festival is one of Europe’s most important photography festivals. Every year, it transforms the Zingst Peninsula into a hub for photography, nature, and social responsibility—with exhibitions, workshops, and lectures that bring environmental issues to life through the power of images.
As the official production partner, WhiteWall brings gallery-quality works by international photographers to the Baltic Sea coast: The large-format photo exhibitions are created on ChromaLuxe panels—a premium printing process that preserves brilliant colors and withstands the elements, wind, and sun. This ensures that every photo print remains part of the festival for an entire year—precisely reproduced and permanently on display.

Main Partner of the BFF Award
For over a decade, the BFF Award has been supporting emerging photographers in Germany—as one of the most prestigious awards of its kind. Each year, young talents develop their photographic styles as part of a hands-on mentoring program—and present the results at the Horizonte Zingst Environmental Photography Festival as an official photo exhibition. WhiteWall is the main partner, handling everything from production to the awards ceremony to the opening reception.
As the producer of the finalists’ exhibition, WhiteWall ensures that the work of young photographers is showcased in true gallery quality. Fine Art Prints, large-format prints—each piece is realized in the way that allows photography to have its greatest impact: as a perfect print. Supporting emerging talent and technical excellence go hand in hand at WhiteWall.

WhiteWall Expert Talk
Horizonte Talks is the lecture series of the Environmental Photography Festival—a forum where photography experts share their knowledge directly with the audience. For WhiteWall, participating in this event is an opportunity to go beyond the finished exhibition and reveal what actually goes into gallery-quality prints and perfect photo reproduction.
Jan-Ole Schmidt, Product Manager at WhiteWall, gave three talks on presentation, print workflow, and digital configuration—providing visitors with practical insights into how a file is transformed into a gallery-quality print. The talks underscore that WhiteWall’s involvement in Zingst goes beyond mere production: it’s also about knowledge transfer and direct interaction with local photography enthusiasts.

‘Horizonte Zingst’ - Our Commitment in Three Areas
Photography thrives on exchange. That’s exactly what makes Zingst such a special place. The environmental photography festival “Horizonte Zingst” brings together artistic perspectives, dialogue, and a community that pushes the boundaries of photography.
For WhiteWall, the festival was a significant milestone—as a partner, producer, and part of the photography industry. Our commitment spans three areas.
‘Horizonte Zingst’ 2025 - A Photographic Retrospective
WhiteWall at the “Horizonte Zingst” Photo Festival 2025
In 2025, WhiteWall, in collaboration with ChromaLuxe, will present its first outdoor exhibition on Postplatz in Zingst: 23 large-format works plus an informational panel measuring 170 x 120 cm, produced to be weather-resistant on ChromaLuxe aluminum panels. On display was the series “Wish You Were Here” by Canadian photographer Sarah Palmer, which explores vacation culture in the midst of the climate crisis—a theme that directly aligns with the Environmental Photo Festival’s focus.
Palmer’s technique is particularly distinctive in the realm of photography: She works with film and creates multiple exposures directly in the camera, without any digital post-processing—an approach that places high demands on printing and reproduction. The fact that these analog, multi-layered images remained visible outdoors for a full year, retaining their full color depth and sharp contrast, underscores what ChromaLuxe material and WhiteWalls’ production expertise can achieve together.

For intense colors – even under rough conditions:
