Discover inspiring arrangement tips for your interior
Time for new perspectives: design tips from photographer Özlem Özsoy
Get fresh inspiration for your interior directly from a professional. Hamburg-based photographer and former photo editor Özlem Özsoy shares her exclusive philosophy of the “organically grown wall”: “I design photo walls intuitively. They are allowed to grow, change, and combine different materials. It is precisely this interplay that makes a wall come alive.”
Discover curated tips for harmonious arrangements and learn how to transform your home into a private gallery using WhiteWall’s high-quality materials, from brilliant acrylic mounting to classic Passe-Partout frames.
Balance & brilliance: Acrylic glass in duo
“A two-image arrangement creates a particularly calm and elegant effect. Two images of the same format or with a similar color palette establish a clear balance and let the photos speak for themselves. Acrylic glass works especially well for photographs, as colors and contrasts appear very vivid. In bright rooms, a matte version can also help reduce reflections and present the images clearly from any angle.”

Structure & focus: The three-image arrangement
“Hanging three images side by side or slightly offset is a beautiful way to bring structure to a wall. This type of arrangement works especially harmoniously with Fine Art Prints in a Passe-Partout. The Passe-Partout creates a visual resting space around each image and gives every photo enough room, so that the arrangement feels balanced and light despite multiple works. Especially between denser areas, it adds a pleasant balance to the overall composition.”

Flexibility with a system: The adaptable gallery
“A photo wall should be allowed to change. Especially when you like to add new images or rearrange seasonally, flexible arrangements are ideal. With magnetic changeable frames, images can be swapped easily without having to redesign the entire composition. I keep adding to my wall and also enjoy using small frames between larger motifs; they create subtle accents and connect different formats. This way, the wall remains lively and evolves over time.”

Subtle contrasts: The canvas in a mixed-materials setting
“For me, canvas works bring a unique, soft effect to a photo wall. Especially in combination with smooth surfaces like acrylic glass or classic prints, an exciting contrast emerges that makes the overall composition more lively. I use canvas deliberately to create calmer, almost painterly accents, particularly with portraits or artistic motifs. In a loosely grown arrangement, inspired by the Petersburg style, this mix of materials appears especially harmonious and gives the wall an almost museum-like depth.”
