Top spots for photographers in Europe - timeless classics in a romantic setting
The cultural diversity is reflected in the endless abundance of motifs. Landscape photography alone can enjoy the varied surroundings here. With the most ancient buildings and the highest density of castles, Europe also has something for every architecture enthusiast.
From the Atlantic coast to the far north - and off you go.
Spain

We start in Spain. From the Rock of Gibraltar, perched on the cusp between the Mediterranean and the Atlantic, further inland you can capture the picturesque coastline or the fascinating Moorish architecture - most notably the Alhambra in Granada. With its colorful cities such as Seville, Málaga, Valencia, Zaragoza and, of course, Madrid, Spain offers a colorful mix of medieval charm and modern art.
Top photo spots and events in Spain:
Palacio Real in Madrid
Alhambra in Granada
Rock of Gibralta
Luc Monastery on Mallorca (with monastery garden)
Portugal

Portugal not only offers a fantastic Atlantic coastline with jagged cliffs as a backdrop, but is also a hot spot for surfers and water fans. The town of Nazaré is the setting for records. In the winter months, the otherwise sleepy fishing village is the forge of the surfing elite. They show off their skills when they ride the waves, which can be up to 30 meters high. A fantastic motif.
Top photo spots in Portugal:
The Benagil cave in the Algarve
Surf competition in Nazaré
Wooden jetty at Praia da Bordeira
Lighthouse at Cabo de São Vicente
France

There are many famous places to visit in France. The most famous is the landmark of the city of Paris, the Eiffel Tower. The tower itself, whether illuminated by day or night, is a perfect motif or background for portraits and street photography. A minimalist, elegant picture on aluminum Dibond makes for a lasting memory.
The most impressive landscape in France is probably the area around Mont Saint-Michel. The abbey rises like a fairytale on an offshore island and is exposed to the play of the tides. An ideal motif for a long exposure at sunset.

The lavender fields of Provence
The Eiffel Tower in Paris
Le Mont-Saint-Michel in the north
La Cité fortress in Carcassonne
Great Britain

The United Kingdom is incredibly diverse. You can't really take in the landscape, the history and the cultures in one go - you have to enjoy them individually.
Ireland, the Emerald Isle, is a paradise for landscape photographers. With the Cliffs of Moher or the colorful Connemara National Park, you will learn to fill your memory card with all shades of green. The cities of Dublin and Galway offer everything street photographers could wish for - old pubs, churches and interesting architecture.
Scotland is similar, but very different. The Highlands, the islands and the Lowlands, like the weather, change their lighting mood every half hour. The cities of Glasgow, Inverness and Edinburgh in particular showcase the small country's multi-layered motifs. But of course Scotland also has a lot to offer in terms of scenery - it is not without reason that it is one of the most popular destinations for landscape photography. There are large national parks such as the Cairngorms, wild islands such as the Isle of Skye and breathtaking hills such as Ben Nevis that are well worth photographing.
England is an attraction in itself. The coastal strips are a stark contrast to the iconic cities of Liverpool, Manchester and Birmingham. London shows its proud history as the capital of the Empire and its status as a modern capital full of culture and architecture. Buckingham Palace, the London Eye and Big Ben are a must on any photo tour.
Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg

A special highlight of the Benelux countries is the diamond and chocolate city of Antwerp. Easy to reach by train from Brussels Airport or Amsterdam, the old guild city enchants every visitor with its charm. If you prefer something more modern but just as worth seeing, you should add a city trip to Amsterdam to your list or combine the two cities. And Brussels, as the seat of the European Union, is of course also worth a city trip for street photographers.

The Atomium in Brussels
The imposing Gravensteen moated castle in Ghent
The dune landscapes in the Het Zwin nature reserve
Scandinavia: Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland

Pure nature is the motto in Iceland, Norway, Sweden and Finland. The beautiful fjords, the untouched landscape and the active volcanoes, such as Öræfajökull, are hard to believe. Photographers should pay particular attention to their equipment here. Nothing in Europe comes close to a real adventure. In the middle of Iceland or in Jotunheimen in Norway, you really are on your own. Keep your batteries warm, make sure you have enough memory cards and respect nature.
Cultural attractions and vibrant cities that you can combine on an extended trip are Bergen, Oslo, Gothenburg, Stockholm and then on to beautiful Copenhagen in Denmark.

Germany

Flensburg, Kiel, Lübeck and Hamburg are beautiful cities on the coast with history and beautiful photo opportunities. The "Kieler Woche" is the tip for friends of large and small boats, while the Elbphilharmonie at sunset is perhaps Hamburg's most beautiful motif. Berlin, the secret capital of street photography, offers plenty of creativity and its own special flair.
Along the Rhine you will find vineyards, castles and open-cast mining. All three motifs unfold their magic and are both contemporary witnesses and cultural assets. The Zollverein colliery is a popular spot where cultural events and photo tours are offered regularly.
The south of Germany is dominated by beautiful forests such as the Black Forest and the Alps. Even if historic towns such as Nuremberg, Rothenburg ob der Tauber and Nördlingen have nothing to hide, they hardly stand a chance against the most famous photo spot: Neuschwanstein Castle in Schwangau. Ludwig II's fairytale castle welcomes around 1.4 million visitors every year - even though you are not allowed to take photos inside.
You can't cross the Alps without having a photo motif in mind. If you like being in the mountains and don't shy away from challenging climbs, you can take breathtaking nature shots.
Metallic ultraHD photo behind acrylic glass ensures intense colors on your pictures of crystal-clear mountain lakes or shimmering blue glaciers.

Salzburg and Vienna present themselves culturally and historically. The Austrian way of life can be captured on film between squares and coffee houses right on the border between the two countries.

Italy

The great longing destination, Bella Italia. The interesting photo spots begin shortly after the border. The Dolomites are famous beyond the borders of Europe thanks to their unique shape. The villas on the lakes of northern Italy, such as Lago di Como or Lago di Garda, exude the nobility of past decades. Venice, with its bridges, alleyways and gondolas, has a lot to offer in addition to its many magnificent buildings. A visit is recommended in the early or late season due to the high number of visitors. The same goes for the cultural highlights of Florence and Pisa. Rome - the Eternal City: You can't turn around without having a subject in front of your lens. You should plan several days for the capital alone. But between Brenner and Catania, the landscape is also always photogenic. You will find volcanoes, temples and breathtaking coastlines.

Gods, islands and legends

Turkey is bursting with centuries of history. The metropolis of Istanbul bears witness to its eventful history. Buildings such as the Hagia Sophia, the 15th century Martyrs' Bridge or the Leander Tower are popular motifs. The landscape stamps are also interesting for travel photographers. The sinter terraces in Pamukkale are a World Heritage Site and the ruins of Troy are located in Hisarlık Tepe.
From there, the view falls to Greece. The legendary White Cities on the coast, Mount Olympus or the many islands in the Ionian Sea awaken longing and are a beautiful memory.
Recommendation: Metallic photo behind acrylic glass ultra HD for vibrant colors.
The wars and crises of antiquity and the Middle Ages have certainly left their mark. But those of modern times have left a lasting mark on the Balkan region. Everywhere, from Albania to Hungary and Romania, you will find towns and villages, landscapes and mountain ranges that make photographers' hearts beat faster. You can discover the streets of enchanting Budapest or visit Bran Castle, the home of Count Dracula, in Romania. The Croatian coast alone has more than 1,000 islands.
The golden city of Prague deserves a special mention. The magnificent power of the ruler's city on the Vltava River impresses with its buildings such as the Charles Bridge, the Prague Castle or the modern Dancing House. The capital of the Czech Republic is a jewel and always worth a visit.

Conclusion: The photo tour through Europe
Europe is diverse and multifaceted. There is no classic motif or typical region that sums up the continent. Rather, its appeal lies in its long history, constant change and natural landmarks. From icy coasts to seething volcanoes, from ancient sites to modern metropolises, every country, every landscape and every culture has an infinite number of motifs, experiences and moments for you to capture.
